GENESEE COUNTY (WWJ) -- The luck has run out for some illegal gamblers in the Flint area.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), authorities seized 100 gambling machines from two alleged storefront casinos in Genesee County last week.

Investigators also seized approximately $29,204 in suspected gambling profits and 62 gift cards of varying amounts.

The raids were conducted in Davison and Burton on Wednesday following an investigation by the state Attorney General's office and the MGCB.

The investigation was launched after receiving a tip about the Burton location, which led to the discovery of the affiliated Davison operation, stated the MGCB.

At The State Road Spot, located at 723 South State Road in Davison, 65 gaming machines -- 11 standalone and 54 computer towers -- were seized.

At The Bristol Spot, located at 1374 E. Bristol Rd. in Burton, 35 gaming machines -- 12 full-size standalone and 23 computer towers -- were seized.

“Illegal gambling machine operations bring unwanted crime to communities across Michigan and deprive school districts of gaming tax revenue from the state to support education,” said MGCB's executive director, Henry Williams. “The MGCB works to educate citizens and businesses about illegal gambling and to support state and local officials’ efforts to remove machines used illegally.”

The MGCB publishes a fact sheet about Michigan law and a separate fact sheet on unregulated machines used for illegal gambling. Michigan citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal gambling by calling the MGCB’s 24-hour anonymous tip line, 888-314-2682.
