Former Indiana Sen. Brent Waltz Admits Taking Illegal Casino Donations

Brent Waltz is awaiting sentencing on two felony charges related to taking illegal donations toward his US Congress bid from a gaming company.

Brent Waltz was indicted for taking illegal donations from Centaur Gaming to his campaign. Centuraur was owned by Spectacle Entertainment, which operated several casinos in Indiana. Charles O'Neill pleaded guilty to connected charges in January 2020. The investigation into the allegations against Walt and John Keeler is now halfway concluded. Hard Rock bought out Spectacular Entertainment last year. It took full control of the Majestic Star Casino in Gary.

Waltz pleaded guilty to taking illegal casino donations on Monday. He did not agree to testify against Keeler or cooperate with the prosecution. Keelser's trial should begin on the same day.
