Florida Voters in Charge wants to sway public opinion in favor of a gambling expansion proposal. The deadline for the signatures passed at 5 pm on Tuesday this week. FVC managed to gather 814,266 signatures, but it's 77,000 short of the minimum required by Florida law for a constitutional amendment. It filed a lawsuit in Leon County Circuit Court on Monday this Monday.

The notice of dismissal did not include any reasons for the decision. The committee alleged F VC had “illegally obtained” signatures and that officials should deem them null and void.
