A staggering €1,000,000 is sitting waiting for Irish Lotto players to collect with dozens across the country urged to come forward.

National Lottery bosses have pleaded with Lotto players to carefully check the unclaimed prizes list and then check their tickets.

Lotto bosses also shared the details on how to claim the cash sums before it's too late.

Jackpots of up to €250,000 have to be snapped up within 90 days of the draw and sums not collecting within this time are put back into promoting the National Lottery, which in turn raises more money for good causes.

Jackpots of up to €250,000 are waiting to be snapped up within 90 days of the draw date. Prizes that are not claimed within this time frame go to promote the National Lottery, which they say “in turn will increase the funds raised for Good Causes”.

A Euromillions raffle ticket sold in County Galway is amongst the prizes with a winning ticket sold for the 16 December 2022 draw as yet unclaimed, leaving a cool €50,000 on table.

Another lucky westerner is leaving fifty grand in limbo with a winning ticket sold in Limerick on 23 December 2022 not yet turned in for the prize.

One Dubliner has been very lucky but needs to realise it very soon - a Lotto Plus 2 prize of €250,000 lays unclaimed from a 19 November 2022 draw, leaving just over one month until the claimant period ends on 17 February 2023.

The National Lottery outlines how to claim the prizes with methods depending on the amount, and whether it was online or in-store.

Prizes from €1 - €99 will automatically be transferred to the online wallet of online Lotto players. This wallet can be cashed out at any time by selecting 'My Account' and then 'Withdraw'.

The cash will be issued by a cheque addressed to the Account Payee with the address specified on your Player Account.

Amounts between €100 and €500 inclusive will be sent to online players to the registered address via cheque automatically.

National Lottery advises that amounts from €501 to €9,999, “PLI will, subject to age and identification details being confirmed, send you a Claim Form for completion before a cheque is issued”.

For wins above €10,000 and above, National Lottery said: “please contact the National Lottery Claims Department on 1800 666 222 Mon-Fri 9.15am-5.30pm where arrangements will be made to process your prize."

For those who have bought a winning ticket in a shop, it must be claimed within 90 days of the draw date.

“Your ticket is a bearer instrument, so treat it as if it were cash. It is the only valid proof of a game played and must be presented to claim a prize.

“You should sign the back of all winning tickets before presenting for payment.” the organisation said.
