The Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa), announced the imposition of a cease and desist order on Gammix for illegally offering online games of chance.

Should Gammix persist, the company will have to pay a penalty of €1.47 million ($1.48 million) a week, up to a maximum of nearly €4.5 million ($4.53 million).

The Ksa has established that Gammix offers games of chance to Dutch consumers via various websites, for which it does not have a license. As a result, no supervision is possible. This means that there is no control over, among other things, the fairness of the game and whether sufficient attention is paid to addiction prevention.

Netherlands Govt. officials have recently announced that, starting in 2023, online gambling companies will encounter new conditions when it comes to advertising. From 2025 onward, sponsoring the shirts of sports teams will be banned in the country, as stated by Legal Protection Minister Franc Weerwind.
