Defendant admits he helped Suncity customers open online gambling accounts. Chinese authorities cracked down on the junket operator uncovering illegal gambling activities, side-betting operations, fraud and other violations.
Another Defendant Accused of Manipulation of Funds Was Heard by the Court. Vincent Loi, former Deputy Director of Business Developments at Suncity Group, admitted to helping a Sun City Group customer to open an account with a foreign gambling operator. The next stage in the legal process will be to hear the testimony of witnesses.
35 Suncity Group defendants have already pled guilty to charges in connection with cross-border junket operations. The founder and former CEO of Sun City Group, Alvin Chau, was arrested in November 2021. 21 of the defendants are currently being heard by the Macau court. 56 defendants will be appearing before the court on criminal charges related to the SunCity Group junkets.
