DACC Continues Preparations for Casino Training

With the Golden Nugget Casino set to open at 204 Eastgate Drive on Danville’s east side this coming spring, Danville Area Community College continues plans to help train some of their employees.
DACC Executive Director of Corporate Education Brittany Woodworth gave a presentation on her department to the DACC Board of Trustees during this past Thursday’s meeting. When it comes to the casino, she reminded us afterwards about the specific employee groups that DACC will be helping with.
AUDIO: Golden Nugget is hiring for all their different disciplines. But the ones that they’re partnering with us on are the table game dealing, the slot machine technicians, and then surveillance and security.
With Golden Nugget right now set to open around the end of March, that means the training in the DACC Technology Center would begin around the end of January. Woodworth says, that’s certainly adjustable.
AUDIO: So, even if the grand opening gets pushed up and it’s March 1, then we’re going to start training on January 1. If it’s a late March grand opening, then it will be late January is my understanding.
