Crown's new $2.2 billion Sydney casino will finally open its VIP gaming floors, after the operator was sidelined by regulators following devastating revelations of the company's connections to organised crime.

Crown Sydney will open the doors to the $2.2 billion Barangaroo building - which Crown claims is Australia's only "VIP" gaming casino - on August 8.

It will feature twin VIP gaming floors, known as the Crystal Room and the Mahogany Room, as well as 12 exclusive private Sky Salons located on levels 28 and 29.

Only Crown members and guests of members will be allowed into the casino.

The facilities feature approximately 160 gaming tables and 70 electronic table games, as well as dining options and outdoor terrace areas.

The Crystal Room gaming floor will open on day one, but the Mahogany Room is scheduled to open at a later date.

Crown Sydney CEO Simon McGrath said his team had been preparing for the opening for a long time.
