KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested six men after raiding a premise believed to be used as an online gambling den.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said police from the Cheras Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) raided the premises at Taman Miharja, Cheras at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (Sept 22).

"We received information that the premise was being used as an online gambling den.

"We arrested six men aged from 51 to 76," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said police seized 12 mobile phones, one tablet device, one computer and RM925 in cash.

"Investigations revealed the premise was operating 24-hours daily since last week.

"Only regular patrons were entertained," he said adding that the case has been classified under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming Houses Act.

He said the suspects have been detained at the Bukit Jalil police station.

"We will obtain a remand order on the suspects on Thursday (Sept 23) to help with further investigations," he said.
