Casinos Austria International Holding, which owns properties in Schaanwald and Balzers in Liechtenstein, is shutting down Casino 96 in Balzers on July 11 to solely focus on its Casino Schaanwald

Casino 96 opened in September 2020 with 75 slot machines and four tables for live games. Its concept differs from the Schaanwald property, as it takes the design of a traditional industrial factory as a reference to its location on Fabrikstrasse, the name of which goes back to one of the oldest Liechtenstein industrial companies.

The casino in Schaanwald opened in October 2017 with 139 slot machines and eight live game tables. In the second full year of operation in 2019, it was able toincrease gross gaming revenue by almost 20% compared to the previous period. Even though the casino density in Liechtenstein doubled at that time, Schaanwald's gaming results continued their positive trenduntil the coronavirus pandemic hit.

In an official press release, a spokesperson for Casinos Austria Internationalassured that the moveintends to strengthen the Schaanwald location and, in doing so, a large part of the workforce of Casino 96 in Balzers will be transferred.
