Cambodian Authorities to Continue with Gambling Crackdown
Cambodian authorities are adamant that the crackdown on illegal gambling should continue.
Kheng addressed the issue of online gambling alongside drug offenses at the inauguration of a new school building in Battambang province. He said that gambling leads to serious offenses such as human trafficking, torture, kidnapping, confinement, arms trafficking and money laundering. 90% of illegal gambling sites were closed according to the secretary of state of the Ministry of Interior.
Kheng warns against drug abuse and drug trafficking. He urges parents to work hand-in-hand with local authorities to prevent the spread of drugs. He also asks law enforcement agencies not to associate themselves with these crimes. In Thailand, a former police officer shot to death 34 children, including his own, his wife and himself.
