Demolition work at the site of the former Dan River Inc. industrial complex in Danville, Virginia kicked off this week. Caesars Entertainment is planning a $500 million Caedars Virginia casino resort. The finishing building at former industrial Complex will be removed at a later stage. Construction efforts have already started on-site ahead of schedule. The project's contractor and engineers are still evaluating the best methods for removal.

Caesars Virginia's planned destination casino resort will cost $500 million. The resort is expected to generate 900 construction jobs and 1,300 permanent jobs when fully operational in late 2023. It will feature a casino with more than 1.400 slot machines and table games, a Caesar Sportsbook, and a World Series of Poker-branded live poker room with 25 tables.
