A Busby grandfather who had just won $100,000 took a little longer to discover his life-enhancing prize after his family declined the winning call from The Lott.

The Sydney resident won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10507, drawn Tuesday 30 November 2021.

As well as winning the 1st Prize, the merry man also won a consolation prize of $1,000, boosting his total windfall to $101,000.

So far in 2021, there have been five major Lucky Lotteries wins in south-west Sydney that have collected more than $800,000.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the euphoric winner admitted he was still trying to comprehend the surprising news.

“$101,000! I love it!” he happily yelled.

“I’m shaking! My wife’s shaking. I came home early from work, and my wife told me there were calls for me from The Lott.

“We’ve been purchasing Lucky Lotteries ever since the game started, so this feels amazing.

“This is the most I’ve ever won. I’m tickled pink!

“I’ve told my son the good news, but I still have to phone my daughter. She will be over the moon!

When asked how he planned to enjoy his good fortune, the New South Wales said he had one thing in mind.

“My wife has wanted a brand-new car for a very long time. This has come at a perfect time,” he shared.

“I’ll have to have a beer and celebrate with the family this evening.”

His winning entry of four consecutive numbers was purchased at Green Valley Newsagency, Shop 2, 174 Green Valley Road, Green Valley.

Green Valley Newsagency director Thanh Nyguyen said the team happy to have sold another major prize-winning ticket.

“We’re very excited for the regular customer!” he said.

“It’s always great to see a win from our retail outlet.

“Congratulations to the winner. We wish them all the best with their prize.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $5.08 million for draw 1552, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $4.79 million for draw 10508.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, 136 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $46.09 million.

During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by a Coolangatta man who scored a Mega Jackpot prize of $9.41 million in May 2021.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
