A local Bundaberg woman has become a millionaire after taking home division one in the weekend’s Gold Lotto draw.
The regional Queenslander held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4197, drawn Saturday 9 October 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,234,399.86.
Confirming her win with an official from The Lott this morning, the stunned winner explained she’d spent Sunday struggling to come to terms with the news.
“That feels pretty good to hear!” she laughed.
“I checked the ticket online on Sunday morning, and I thought there must have been some kind of glitch in the system.
“There’s no way I thought it could be real.
“I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but I suppose I can get excited now!
“How amazing.”
With her lottery windfall about to hit her bank account, the Bundaberg resident said she was looking forward to the bliss of financial freedom.
“We’re trying to build a house at the moment, so hopefully, this will speed things along,” she explained.
“It certainly takes the pressure off in a big way!”
Her life-changing entry was purchased at Station News, 206 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg.
Station News owner Bronwyn Palmer said it was the first division one winning entry the outlet had sold.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4197 on 9 October 2021 were 22, 40, 24, 18, 42, and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 37 and 19.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4197 – two from New South Wales and Queensland, and one from Tasmania.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 354 so far this calendar year, including 88 won by Golden Casket customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Saturday Gold Lotto created 174 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 341 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $435.21 million.
