On Monday, New Jerseyans playing at PlaySugarHouse will find themselves betting at BetRivers Online Casino and Sportsbook. Both brands are owned by the same company, Rush Street Interactive (RSI), so the product won't change. RSI operates two identical sites in Pennsylvania.

Bally's has submitted its application for a casino license to the Illinois Gaming Board. The company wants to build a $1.7 billion venue in the River West neighborhood of Chicago. If approved, Bally’s would operate a temporary casino at Medinah Temple in River North while the permanent venue is built on the former Tribune Publishing plant grounds. Baly”s was approved by the Chicago City Council on May 25. The city hopes the Bly“s casino will generate $800 million in annual revenue at full maturity and generate an estimated $200 million tax revenue for the city.

A new coalition of provincial regulators in Canada is calling for an end to illegal gambling websites. The Provincial Lottery Corporations are concerned about the business and consumer concerns. They have outlined an action plan to address the issue. They believe it is the first significant call to change the otherwise lenient rules on offshore gambling in the country. It is also a response to the upcoming iGaming and sports betting legalization. iGambling is legal in some parts of the U.S. and Canada. In Canada, it's illegal. Atlantic Lotteries Corporation President and CEO Patrick Daigle is among those who oppose illegal sites.

Evolution goes live on Ontario's iGaming debut with operators including 888, BetMGM, RSI, theScore Bet. The province's new, regulated online gaming market launched on Monday, April 4. Evolution is powering online casino services in Ontario for operators such as 868, LeoVegas, Rush Street Interactive and the Score Bet, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Penn National Gaming. It will initially include the full Evolution portfolio of online live casino games, game shows, First Person table games and game Shows, as well as NetEnt and Red Tiger online slots.

Ira Lubert's proposed $120 million casino at the Nittany Mall is on hold. The group behind the Live! Casino brand is challenging the state gaming board's decision to award Luber a US casino license.

Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady got a slot machine tax reduction. The reduction allowed the casino to hire back furloughed staff and continue its contributions to the economic revitalization of Scenectad. The Daily Gazette submitted a FOIL request to New York State Gaming Commission for documents explaining the slot tax cut. It provided copies of four communications between the commission and the Casino in the spring of 2021. Rivers itself was willing to comment. Its CEO Tim Drehkoff, CEO of Rush Street Gaming, said the move came down to fairness and circumstance.

Bragg Gaming Group has launched its online gaming content in Ontario with Rush Street Interactive. Five exclusive online titles from Bragg's Oryx Gaming and Spin Games divisions are now available for players at RSI's BetRivers.ca brand. Brags supplies games to Rsi in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan through its wholly owned subsidiary Spin Game Games. Brag's exclusive titles are from proprietary and partner studios. An initial batch of 22 games certified for the Ontario market are expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

The term "retention" is popular among North American online gambling insiders. In January, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt urged operators to rein in their promotional spending. DraftKings CEO Jason Robins ignored that advice. Retention was on the minds of most of the iGaming Americas track speakers and attendees at the New Jersey conference on July 13.

Ruby 7 is an award-winning social game company based in Nevada. Waza's offering will go live alongside major providers such as Aristocrat and Konami.

Delasport secures UKGC licences for remote gambling software licence and remote betting host real events licence. This is the seventh market Delasports has entered in the last six months. It follows moves into Malta, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany and Mexico.

Carlin sold 80,894 shares of Rush Street Interactive in a transaction on Thursday, May 26th. The shares were sold at an average price of $6.07, for a total value of £491,026.58. Carlin now owns 3,169,106 shares in the company, valued at $19,236,473.42. Institutional investors and hedge funds have recently made changes to their positions in Rush Stated Interactive. Two Sigma Advisers LP boosted its stake in shares. of the Rush STAY by 144.1% during the third quarter. Dynamic Advisor Solutions LLC acquired a new stake. in RSI during fourth quarter worth about $329,000. Allspring Global Investments Holdings LLC bought a stake of about$355,00 during last quarter, worth $355K. Strs Ohio boosted stake by 16.5% in fourth-quarter. Advisor Group Holdings Inc. bought 61,563 shares during this quarter and now holds a portfolio of shares worth approximately $1,016,500.

Pennsylvania's 18 iCasinos collected $113.3 million in May. It's the seventh month in a row that the state's online casino play has exceeded $100 million. In the first five months of 2022, the i Casinos have collected about $555.2 million from gamblers. The retail casinos generate a lot more revenue, but that total year-to-year is basically flat.

Colombia's gambling regulator, Coljuegos, continues to step up its efforts against illegal gambling operations. The latest moves focus on businesses operating out of Risaralda and Quindío.

Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh is offering a million-dollar bad beat jackpot. It's twice the amount it had previously awarded for a bad beating. The jack pot grows by a couple thousand dollars every day. The largest bad-beat jackpots were reported from Detroit's Motor City Casino and Playground Poker Club. If the Rivers prize doesn't reach $1.5 million within two to three weeks, it could be the largest in U.S. casino history.

Chicago City Council approves Bally’s $1.7 billion casino in River West. The vote followed a frenzied week of casino votes at City Hall. Mayor Lori Lightfoot thanks labor leaders for helping her deliver a Chicago casino after decades of "futility". . The Illinois Gaming Board must approve the deal. It was a schedule without precedent for a City council. it was on Monday, recessed, and then the Bly”s plan was muscled through.

No smoking is still prohibited on the casino floor at Rivers Casino Philadelphia. People can smoke on Jack's Bar patio or outside designated entrances.

The Canadian province of Ontario started its legal and monitored online gambling sector on April 4th 2022. The launch comes nearly three years after the province government announced plans to lift the lottery’s monopoly on online betting and gambling in April 2019. In 2020, the government established a licensing system.

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment's PlayFallsview mobile brand is one of the latest to become licensed with regulators in Ontario. MGE is the first land-based operator to get licensed. Rich Roberts, M GE's president of iGaming, will be overseeing the new online casino and sportsbook product. The product is expected to launch this summer. Kambi is its sports betting provider. The company had an existing relationship through Unibet, which operates a sportsbooks at Mohegans Sun Pocono in Pennsylvania. It is a difficult task to work out the details of a new licensing agreement.

Illinois venues in play posted a 15.9% increase in April revenue to $122.4 million. The state received $21 million in tax receipts from casino gaming in the first four months of the year. Bally's was selected as the city's preferred operator on May 5. Chicago City Council could vote on the proposal next week. The Special Committee on Chicago Casino is meeting on Friday. It is expected to delay the vote until Wednesday.

The ceremony to mark the completion of the Rivers Casino Portsmouth was held on May 10. The tradition of topping off a building dates back to Scandinavia.

Most online gambling operators talk about revenue, mergers and acquisitions during their earnings calls. They don't talk much about customer acquisition costs (CAC). Analysts want to hammer home the point that shareholders want operators to rein in marketing and promotional expenses.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth celebrated a construction milestone with a Topping-off Ceremony on May 10. The new gaming and entertainment complex on Victory Boulevard will open in early 2023. It will feature a casino, BetRiver Sportsbook, premier restaurants, a live entertainment lounge, hotel, and event center. There will be five job fairs, one per month over the next five months, beginning May 12 at Tidewater Community College’s Portsmouth Campus. The first job Fair will focus on table games and dealer school training.

Bally's Corporation has been chosen as the sole license holder for a casino to be built on the site of the Tribune Publishing Center in downtown Chicago. The $1.74B casino will include 3,400 slots and 170 table games, a 3-000-seat theater, an exhibition experience, outdoor music venue and a 500-room hotel.

Bally's River West proposal is a finalist for Chicago's first casino. The proposal would be located at the Chicago Tribune printing site. It is one of three bids for the project. A special committee has not yet finished its work. Bally’s has offered to pay $25 million upfront to the city. The other bidders have not offered up any money. All three proposals met opposition from local residents. They are concerned about the cost and the location. There are concerns about all the proposals.

Bally's Corporation has been selected as the winner of Chicago's casino license. The company offered an upfront payment of $25 million.

Rivers Casino Philadelphia installed metal detectors in February. The devices are used to screen patrons for weapons. Rivers and Valley Forge are having licensing renewal hearings before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.  

None of the casino applicants has agreed to negotiate with unions, labor leaders say. Robert Reiter Jr., president of Chicago Federation of Labor, wants aldermen to approve any proposal until a labor agreement for operations is in place. Unite Here Local 1, the Chicago union representing hospitality workers, and its president, Karen Kent, also want a unionized labor force. Bally's has engaged with the CFL and is working toward an agreement. The three active proposals have had community hearings and each has drawn heavy criticism from neighbors. A parade of alders wants to reach a so-called "labor peace agreement" they hope will result in higher casino wages.

Chicago Chinatown residents are protesting the proposed site for Rush Street Gaming’s $1.62bn project. Dr. Hong Liu of the Midwest Asian Health Association and Dr Kim Tee, Commissioner at the State of Illinois Hospital Licensing Board, are among the protesters.

Plans for a fifth mini-casino in Pennsylvania near State College are stuck in a lawsuit. Cordish Companies, who own the Live! Philadelphia hotel-casa and the live! Pittsburgh casino, are suing Ira Lubert for his involvement in the bid.

Four Atlantic City Casinos Forfeit Winnings From Underage Gamblers. Tropicana was the biggest offender, with a forfeiture of $59,860.30. Harrah's was initially found to be liable for $6,857, but one of the seven gamblers produced proper ID. Caesars had a pair of fines, $1,632.59 from a Feb 22, 2022, violation involving seven young gambers, and another $901.02 from Nov. 10, 2021. Hard Rock forfeited $ 1,600.

The first round of the NBA playoffs starts on Saturday. There was a six-figure jackpot win on the Las Vegas Strip, a contest featuring the chance to win a Tesla at BitStarz and new offerings coming to an Atlantic City casino resort.

Illinois Casino and VGT Revenue Bounced Back Strongly In March. Casino revenue in the state of Illinois reached nine figures for the first time in 2022. The state collected $17.6 million in tax receipts for March and $39 million for three months. Sports wagering in Illinois has generated $101.8 million and $15.2 million so far this year.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot wants to build a casino in Chicago by 2025. Three finalists are on the table.

Nevada had three online poker sites in 2014, but only one recorded a monthly revenue exceeding $1 million. Caesars and MGM are among the largest online operators in the U.S. and offer World Series of Poker tickets online. The company BetMGM is not planning to bring online gaming to Nevada. The state's gaming industry is reluctant to legalize online casino gaming. Red Rock Casinos opposed any online regulation expansion. Last year, the Nevada Gaming Control Board postponed a workshop hearing to discuss potential regulatory changes. It was never rescheduled.

Local residents have expressed concerns about the development proposals for a casino in Chicago.

The launch of the new gambling market in Ontario was delayed for 3 years. The province will be regulated by the iGaming Ontario and issue licenses to top gambling operators and suppliers. Before the launch, the province had issued a series of licenses, thus approving a host of major brands to carry out operations in the Ontario. Some of them are FanDuel, PointsBet, Bet365, Rivalry, TheScore, and Rush Street Interactive. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario will resolve any outstanding issues that are yet to be resolved. All online casinos that applied for registration before 4th of April were required to suspend operations.

None of the Chicago casino finalists rolled double sixes at community meetings staged by Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Less than a third of time was reserved for Chicagoans to question the development teams directly. Many residents are deeply concerned about traffic, crime, property values and quality of life. The finalists must address those concerns and prove their casino will boost businesses owned by Black and Latino Chicagoers. None of alderpeople in the wards that would house the finalists for the casino has endorsed the proposal. Mayor Light foot is running for re-election. If she wins, she will have to find 26 votes for any of her proposals.

Rush Street offers a plan to build a casino in the South Loop. The plan would transform 62 acres of land into a new vibrant destination.

Rush Street Gaming is the only finalist for the city's sole casino license. The company is a joint venture between Neil Bluhm’s Rush Street and Chicago megadeveloper. It is proposing to build a brand-new “neighborhood from the ground up” around the casino. South Loop residents are concerned about the development. The 78 Community Advisory Council wants the selection process to be slowed down. They are worried about increased traffic, the potential for more crime and the threat of gambling addiction. 78% of 400 people opposed the previous casino plans.

A Rivers Casino at The 78 is being planned for the south branch of the Chicago River. The development team has a lot of work on their hands as the area's alderman has already said he can't support a casino at the site. Neighbors staged a protest before the meeting and about two-thirds of those who spoke at it said they don't want a Casino nearby. They also worry about the proximity to schools and crime. A handful of people spoke in favor of it, but most people are against it. They are concerned about problem gambling and the impact on Chinatown.

This week's gambling video finds March Madness wrapping up and Ontario online gambling going live. Several operators have launched, including FanDuel, BetMGM, Rush Street, Unibet, and Bet365. Hooters sports betting will be handled by licensed operators in legal jurisdictions. Nevada and Las Vegas casinos earned $1.1 billion in profits in February. For the 12th consecutive month, Nevada casinos generate over $1000 billion. For February, the state's casinos set a new all time revenue record.

Bally's is one of three finalists for the downtown casino license. Bally’s Chairman Soo Kim made a presentation to Chicago-area residents Wednesday evening. Hard Rock made its pitch Tuesday evening at Harold Washington Library. Rush Street will discuss its Rivers 78 proposal in the South Loop area on Thursday evening, too. The city is projecting annual tax revenue of approximately $200 million from the casino. The money would be earmarked to address funding shortfalls in Chicago”s fire and police pension plans. Illinois could also receive approximately $248.7 million in taxes generated through all 11 of the state‘s venues in 2021.

The gambling market can be a lucrative business if you place your bets right. For most of the last decade, the best investments were in Macao's casinos. Online gambling is here to stay and Macau casinos are yet to make a comeback. Las Vegas is hotter than ever.

Evolution Gaming has taken an extensive set of online casino services live with multiple operators in Ontario's newly-regulated iGaming market.

Hard Rock International has finally set a date for the "grand opening" of its temporary, full-service real-money casino in Bristol, Virginia.

There are now multiple Canadian online casinos and platforms for online sports betting in Ontario. The launch marks the first significant change in Canada since the nation repealed its prohibition on single-event sports wagering last year.

Rush Street Interactive launched BetRivers brand in Canada on Monday. It is the first day of the legal, regulated market for poker rooms, sportsbooks, and online casinos in Ontario. The company is bringing its products to Ontario's gaming enthusiasts. RSI joins a number of other online casino operators in launching on Day One.

Ontario's online gambling market to open at midnight on Monday. There are 25 operators registered with iGaming Ontario. The Trailer Park Boys are promoting their website with videos and ads. The province has said its regulated online betting market will help "protect consumers and provide choice" and generate revenue. It is Canada's largest province. Online gambling already existed in Ontario in the form of grey market websites operated outside Canada. Last summer, the province launched its Proline+ sportsbook. it was regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which regulates the industry.

Rush Street Interactive is the first U.S.-based online casino and sports betting company to receive the RG Check iGaming Accreditation for its BetRiversandPlaySugarHouse sites. The accreditation is valid for three years and is reviewed by a panel of independent responsible gaming specialists. It is embedded into the requirements for all igaming operators entering the Ontario marketplace by iGO. On April 4, Betrivers real-money online casinos and a sportsbook will go live in the Canadian province. The Accrediting Council is already used by land-based casinos in Ontario.

April 4th is the final game of the March Madness basketball tournament. The opening of Ascend Sportsbook at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michgan is also important as it will be Michiganders’ 13th option for retail sports betting.

Red Tiger Gaming Limited has entered the embryonic iGaming market of Canada after signing an arrangement to supply some of its innovations to provincial lottery operator Loto-Quebec.

Google allows certain online gambling ads in Ontario. The legal online betting market in the province is scheduled to launch next week on 4 April. A number of operators have secured licences ahead of the opening. The province published its final standards for online gaming in September 2021. Some legal experts question the government's approach. It is not clear whether it conflicts with the Criminal Code of Canada.

Next month, Ontario launches an internet gambling market named iGaming. It will allow legal single-game betting and online gambling. The market will be regulated by the government. Operators must register with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and obtain an operating agreement with igaming Ontario. They also need to enter revenue-sharing agreements with province. Some operators are more ready to launch their services on day one, while others will expand the market in the weeks and months following the launch.

Bally's Corporation, Hard Rock Chicago and Rivers 78 are the three finalists for the sole casino license in Chicago. The city will choose a final developer and operator of the Chicago casino for approval by City Council. Chicago first declared intentions to develop a casino more than 30 years ago. It is expected to open in 2035.   Hard Rock's proposal also included plans for a temporary casino in MPEA’s North Building. MP EAA had expressed concerns about contiguous connections between convention and casino space. They had also expressed concern about the potential for locating a temporarily casino facility within a hotel or an alternate location.

Bally’s, Rush Street and Hard Rock are on the shortlist for Chicago's first integrated casino-resort. The mayor has selected three plans from the five bids. She will choose her preferred winner by early summer. It will still need approval from City Council and the Illinois Gaming Control Board.

The list of potential locations for Chicago's first casino has been narrowed to three. The list includes the 78 megadevelopment, the Tribune Publishing Center and the One Central project site. Other finalists are Rivers At South Loop's 78, Hard Rock Near Soldier Field and Bally's In River West. Residents will have three community meetings to discuss each of the proposals. The final choice will be announced by the end of March. It will aim to get a temporary casino up and running by mid-2023 or 2024, with a final complex ready to open by late 2025 or early 2026.

Both proposals for the casino at McCormick Place were eliminated. All three firms that bid for it are still in the running to build and operate the facility. Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the Chicago City Council are counting on a casino to boost the city’s economy and funnel approximately $200 million into the police and fire pension funds.

Inspirational Entertainment has been granted a gaming-related supplier license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Lisa Gretzky is a member of Provincial Parliament for Windsor West. She has urged the Government of Ontario to put the launch of the new iGaming market on hold. Great Canadian Gaming Corporation published a study on the expansion. It said the introduction of a 20% tax on gross gaming revenue of 20%, which will put land-based casinos at risk, since they pay higher taxes.

Alabama lawmakers are considering gambling expansion bills. The bills need Senate and House approval soon as the Legislature is scheduled to adjourn on April 7. Last year's gambling bill failed because of a lack of time. Alabama has a constitutional prohibition on gambling. If the proposals are approved, they will go to the ballot for voter approval.
