Big Las Vegas Strip Casino Deal Cancelled. The deal with the Las Las Vitesse Convention and Visitors Authority to sell 10 acres on the southeast corner of Las. Vegas and Elvis Presley boulevards to Chilean real estate investor Claudio Fischer for $120 million. The NBA-ready arena project led by Jackie Robinson planned for a 27-acre site on north Strip has been in the works for roughly a decade.

LVCVA has cancelled the deal with Claudio Fischer to build a casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Fischer did not make the required payment by Dec. 15. LVC VA received the $7 million nonrefundable deposit and relisted the property.

The LVCVA had planned to use the proceeds from the sale to partially fund a two-year, $600 million renovation project for the Las Vegas Convention Center's North, Central, and South halls. The construction will go ahead as planned. Major conventions have returned to Las Las. Vegas. CES 2023 is expected to draw over 100,000 people to the convention center.
