Bally's Corporation is moving forward with two major projects in two US states. The company expects to close the Tropicana Vegas acquisition in September. It will be well into 2023 before any redevelopment takes place on the 34-acre south-Strip location. Bally’s has affiliations with the MLB via Sinclair broadcasting network. Oakland Athletics are looking for a new ballpark in both Las Vegas and Oakland. Baly's filed a casino application with Illinois regulator. They are interested in the 35- acres of land where Tropicoana Las Nevada Hotel & Casino currently sits.

Bally's Corporation filed an application to build a temporary casino at Medinah Temple. The company will spend $70 million on the project. It will be followed by a $1.7 billion permanent casino. Hard Rock Casino Rockford took 16 months to get preliminary approval from the board and two years to open a permanent one. The River North Residents Association is seeking significant changes to the plan. In May, the Chicago City Council voted to approve the Bally’s Corporation casino project, which defeated the other two finalists.
