The US iGaming industry has come a long way since launching in New Jersey and Delaware in November 2013. There are only five states currently allowing online casino wagers. The total US IGaming handle exceeds $54bn.

VegasSlotsOnline News took the total handle data from each jurisdiction since iGaming legalization to estimate average yearly spend. The average annual amount was generated by dividing handle by the number of years of online casino wagering in each state.

Pennsylvania takes the top spot with average annual spend of $6,766.15. Michigan is second with $2,024.25. New Jersey is third with an average spend $1,507.13 per year. West Virginia and Delaware are in the bottom two places with the average yearly spend per gambler of $782.72 and $665.94.

Gambling operators are looking for jurisdictions with high legalization potential. Online casino markets across the country could soon be in a position to "dwarf" handle and tax revenue figures generated by sports betting activity.
