Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala on Friday received a wildcard berth for the main draw of the 2022 Miami Open.
Eala was among the eight wildcard entries for the women's tournament, alongside the likes of Naomi Osaka and Sofia Kenin. Others include Hailey Baptiste, Astra Sharma, Linda Fruhvirtova, Ashlyn Krueger, and Robin Montgomery in the entry list.
"I am excited to be playing the Miami Open," Eala wrote in a social media post.
On the men's side, Andy Murry and Nick Kyrgios were among the five wildcard entries.
In 2021, Eala received a wildcard slot for the Miami Open qualifiers.
Eala is also set to don the national colors in the Hanoi Southeast Asian Games in May.
The Miami Open will be held from March 21 to April 3 in the Hard Rock Stadium.
