Profiling a couple of alpha Bodogs

As
reported a short while ago here on LiveCasinoDirect.com, one Dan D. of Colorado hit a ridiculous payout in late June on 52-Hand Double Double Bonus Poker over at Bodog online casino. Originally reported as $113,687 (don’t ask), the lucky winner took a dandy $104,000 instead. Good enough, eh?
Tales in video poker, of course, work completely differently from poker’s bad beat stories. With no opponent to muck things up, bad beats never happen and thus the happy stories take precedent.
How was the Dan D. payout achieved? By betting the max in a $1 game, getting a deal of A-A-A-A-3 and not so fast, Reflex Boy, don’t be pitching that three. You can’t improve this hand and, if you make the correct Dan D. move, you hold all five cards, thereby getting a 2000x payout. Ka-ching!
"My hand was almost shaking as I held all the cards," he told Bodog’s official website, "I didn't want to mess it up." Enjoy the payout, Clever Lad.
Meanwhile, Vince O. took home a fair share of cash just for playing the greatest game in the casino, virtual or brick-and-mortar: Pai-Gow Poker. Why is Pai-Gow the best? Because since the cards essentially play themselves and there are so many splits (i.e. the dealer takes one hand, you take the other), all you have to do is remember a few simple rules, never vary your bet, and you can play for hours – maybe days – on your original stake (say 10x the minimum bet). Real-life Pai-Gow may have a slight advantage in that you can get completely blasted on house drinks for little or no money.
In fact, Vince O. won a trip for two to Las Vegas at – surely some limitations apply here – a hotel of his choosing in a random draw of Pai-Gow players. Vince O. ended up traveling with a friend over his wife ostensibly because of the kids. Three cheers for Vince’s wife even though LCD can probably imply that, like Vince’s interview feature at the Bodog ‘site, “She’ll never check the website.”
O, get this: This is the second occasion on which Vince O. has received a trip from Bodog. Life just ain’t fair.
