In the days of internet dominance, judging the hip has nearly neatly come down to a science that may rely on a single barometer: Keyword search counts.
Over at the OG Paper (LCD presumes that’s “Online Gaming/Gambling” and not “Original Gangster”), the title of uncredited post “Search for ‘online casinos’ showing recent decline” says it all. According to the OG, a study by Google Trends showed, among other findings, that:
•Googling the term “online casinos” has halved since 2004; and
•English remains the clear leader in search language; but
•the top six queries for “online casinos” came out of Israel, South Africa, Costa Rica, Canada, Argentina, and the US.
Naturally, Google Trends described the decline as present “since the U.S. Government passed [the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act].”
