Playtech is partnering with local operators and former monopolies in newly regulated markets for 2011. The announcement as to who the 10 new licenses will be will go public in the New Year. Branching out into other countries will mean certain robust third-quarter growth for Playtech. Poker will make up the majority of this increase but will also include casino and bingo.
With new foreign markets opening up into the online casino industry, many good opportunities continue to arise, particularly in Italy and France as they move toward a regulated market. Playtech’s gross income for the quarter increased 30% to €41.3m from €31.9.
After Italy and France, Mo Weizer, CEO of Playtech claims that Serbia and Finland will be the next in line stating that “Finland may be an 11th the size of the UK but it has 19,000 land-based slot machines compared to the UK’s 37,000 catering for a population of 60 million people.” One thing is for sure, keep an eye on Playtech’s far reaching gaze worldwide in 2011.
